need help for fuel injection on C10 ASAP!
I have just purchased an old Normag C10 here in Norway. For the last 45 years it has been in the basement of an old barn, but today it could smell free air once again I drained the old diesel out and cleaned out the fuel filter. After this i could not get the pump to work. I dont know if the pump was working before this, but it was supposed to work just fine when it was paked 45 years ago. I had diesel running into the pump, but nothing came out of the pressure end. I tryed to take the pump out to check if everything was OK, but after loosening the three screws holding the pump it would only come up about one centimeter before stopping in something. Is there a special way to remove the pump?? Does anybody have an idea of what the problem could be??

Re: need help for fuel injection on C10 ASAP!
Hello again. Not sure what u meen about sharing pictures? If u want to use the pictures for something, go ahead Today I found out the problem. Removed the dieselpump, and the "sliding shaft" or "regulator" was stuck after 45 years in a basement. After som lubricating it was moving again. Mounted the pump again, filled it with diesel, and removed most of the air from the system. After cranking the engine ONE turn, it started right up and was running like a clock Not bad after all this years Only problem was the transmission, shifting gear was wery diffecult. Is this a common problem? Changed the oil on the rearend, but same problem occured. Does anybody know how many of the c10 that was exported to Norway? To my knowlege we only have two survivors left in the entired country, plus one that was imported a few years ago from Sweden. In addision to theese 3 i only know of 3 ore 4 other Normag's of different models left here. Not to many was imported, and as you can see, very few is left. My brother has one of the other ones, and i belive this is the model called F12. His tractor was berryed behind a barn in the 70's, and he digged it back up in the 90's and restored it.

Re: need help for fuel injection on C10 ASAP!
Hello tractor friend, I know the problem with the injection pump. I think the reason is resinified diesel oil. Therefore washing normally helps. Valves and plungers are critical for that issue. Maybe you have a similar problem with the gearbox. You can remove the oil (probably you can use it again since its new). Then open the lid and wash the gearbox (switching forks, etc). Finally you can fill up the gearbox with diesel oil, start the engine and drive in idle mode for a few minutes that all moving parts washed with diesel. Subsequent you can remove the diesel oil and fill the gearbox with suitable oil. Hopefully after that procedure shifting the gears is working without problems.
I have another question, is it a popular hobby in norway to restore and collect old tractors? What are the favoured labels? Do you had/have a domestic tractor label? Regards Schlepperoldie

Re: need help for fuel injection on C10 ASAP!
Ok,thanx, will try I also belive this will fix my problem. It is not to popular here in Norway, but I think the interest is raising. But we have a hanful of people that is collecting bigtime. Like the other member described over here, i do not know the guy personally but his colection has about 200 tractors. This C10 that you show pictures of is the one I was talking about. If my information is correct this was imported a few years ago. About labels, i guess that depends on the each different person. Most of the pre -60 tractors in norway are German, so ofcourse they are well represented. We also have some american tractors that came with the "marshall-help" from USA after WW2. These are also popular collectibles. In addision to this we have some English tractors, and a handfull of Danish. My small collection (15-20 and raising ) are most German tractors, Examples like Hanomag, Bautz, Porsche, and Fahr but also some english like OTA and Garner. The rest is mostly American. My personal favourite is the germans, cause of the diesel engins
